Cheers to "Mimosa": Pantone's 2009 Color of the Year

"Palm Springs" invitation by Kenzie Kate Invitations

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge is sipping a "Mimosa" and toasting those wonderful people at Pantone (THE worldwide authority and trendsetters of color) for selecting “Mimosa"

"Mimosa, a warm, engaging yellow, as the color of the year for 2009. In a time of economic uncertainty and political change, optimism is paramount and no other color expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow."The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance," explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation."-From Pantone.com.

And what expresses more optimism, warmth (from family and friends) and hope than weddings? As a matter of fact, Mimosa cocktails are traditionally served at brunch showers or post wedding brunches to toast the bride or happy couple.

What a delightful color for spring weddings and oh, what diverse and stylish color palettes can be created with it! "Mimosa" yellow can be paired with grey/platinum, brown, blue, white, green, black & white, among others to provide a real punch of color and striking look. Damask patterns or ultra modern styles pair very well with "Mimosa".

From decor to dresses, flowers to food & fabulous cocktails and stationery, this is going to be a very bright and happy wedding season indeed!

Cheers!

What a wonderful color to really brighten the down economy. My brother's favorite color is this warm yellow. I will be sure to tell him. Thanks for sharing this.

I completely agree - mimosa yellow is a fantastic color to incorporate into a wedding - it's so vibrant, and pairs together so well with many other colors.

Cheers to the New Year - I wish you a happy, healthy and successful 2009! Keep in touch!
