Music: The Voice of Your Emotion for Your Wedding

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge absolutely loves this piece of music composed and directed by the incredible maestro and Academy Award Winner, Ennio Morricone. The music is from the movie Cinema Paradiso (the movie is also one of my all time favorites).

It is one of the most beautiful love stories and romantic scores I have ever seen and heard and I cry every time I listen to it. It is so full of emotion and passion, I can't help it. I'll sit at my desk and drop tears on the keyboard.

Music does that to us. It takes us to wonderful exciting heights of emotion from breathtaking, sweeping romance to exciting, pounding Disco or Rock N' Roll.

Music is so important in our lives and loves and in telling the story of your emotions on your wedding day (and later in your wedding film or photography montage).

From the moment the guests arrive and hear the music as they are seated at the ceremony to the very last dance at your reception, a narrative of the two of you; your moments and the special times in your lives you want to share are played like a soundtrack that will be etched in time and memory.

What music, when you hear it, makes you well up with emotion...love, happiness, comfort, excitement and fondness (those 70's & 80's tunes perhaps)?

As you begin to score your wedding soundtrack in your minds, write down your ideas so you can share them with your BOTH your wedding cinematographers AND entertainment specialist, be it orchestra, band, trio, or DJ. They will assist you in putting together a composition that will see your story, your emotions set to music, unfold beautifully. I'm also willing to bet there will be some tears too!

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge would love to hear from you. What songs made YOU emotional at your wedding or your daughters or sons or friends? Thank you for sharing your comments.

Have a fabulous day!

Weddings on Film-All You Need is Love, Actually

One of Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge's favorite cinematic wedding scenes is from the 2003 movie "Love, Actually". starring Hugh Grant and Keira Knightly. I smile every time I watch this scene (I do love the whole movie too) & thought it would be perfect to share with you on Valentine's Day!

Ceremonies are meant to be reverent, yes, but that doesn't mean that you can't interject some of your own style in to them and have some fun to surprise and delight your guests.

You may not always be able to work in the choir, lead singer, instruments and exceptionally cool, "with it" priest, but you can choose music that is unconventional or take traditional songs and make them modern, like entering to an electronic version of the "Wedding March" a la Jimmy Hendrix

No matter what other ingredients you use to make your own wedding cinematic moments, remember that "All You Need is Love" is the most important:)

Inspiration to Design Your Wedding & Decorate Your Life

I do love all the different wedding publications out there like INSIDE WEDDINGS, The Bride & Bloom and Grace Ormond Wedding Style for wedding decor inspiration, but often, a great deal of my inspiration comes from other sources like home decor and furniture stores and magazines.

Unusual you say? Not so much!!! Because so many weddings are taking their receptions to new heights in making guests feel comfortable, brides & grooms, along with their event planners & designers are creating temporary "living" spaces for their weddings that are reflections and miniature versions of the couples living spaces or ideal living lifestyle.
So what better places to turn to for ideas than some of these fabulous stores, decor companies and magazines to inspire you in designing your stylish wedding and current home or the one to come.
Here are some of my latest favorites and I believe in sharing the Love:) The resources range from from very very high end to inexpensive (you have to dig to find the diamonds) but proves that a great style can be acheived at any budget:). Plan on drinking on your wedding day?-Think again!

Wow, sometimes you think you have heard everything and then, sure enough, something happens to make you go "What the (insert your choice of word here)?".

The story below was featured as a headline on my MSN homepage today.

As your wedding planner, I have strict terms in my contract regarding the consumption of alcohol on your wedding day to protect all parties concerned. I will also reiterate the negative consequences of over drinking on your wedding day including being late & missing key parts of your wedding, potential property damage, and even looking like a complete dumb numskell in pictures so that they have to be re-taken (it's been done and it's costly!).

Of course, there is the legal issue that if either the bride or groom were so inebreated that they could not be of sound mind when they answer "I Do" during the ceremony, can the ceremony even proceed? I wouldn't think so, but my solution would be to postpone the wedding with all the extra expenses required on the shoulders of the couple involved.

Never, would I have expected the solution described in the story below.

Talk about embarassing!

Do you take this drunk guy’s brother? ...
With groom reportedly too inebriated, sibling steps in, takes bride

PATNA, India - Villagers at a wedding in eastern India decided the groom had arrived too drunk to get married, and so the bride married the groom's more sober brother instead, police said Monday.

"The groom was drunk and had reportedly misbehaved with guests when the bride's family and local villagers chased him away," Madho Singh, a senior police officer told Reuters after Sunday's marriage in a village in Bihar state's Arwal district.

The younger brother readily agreed to take the groom's place beside the teenage bride at her family's invitation, witnesses said.

"The groom apologized for his behavior, but has been crying that word will spread and he will never get a bride again," Singh said by phone.

Rose Party Surprise!

I just love this for a ceremony recessional, grand entrance or any special moment within the wedding reception.

ROSE PARTY SURPRISE is a handheld cannon popper filled with artificial fragrant rose petals, and will shoot the rose petals up to 10 meter (impressive), and fall down smoothly.

The Rose Party Surprise sells for US $41.00 each and can be purchased directly from BimBamBanana.com (I just love that name), a company who creates all kinds of fun gadgets you never new you needed but just couldn't possibly live without once you find them.

At their current price, it may not be something you want to purchase en masse, but a few well placed guests to release the roses would make a huge impact and make for some amazing images too!

Have a Stylish Day!
