Wedding Concierge in Canada October 13-23rd

Toronto, Canada Skyline-Image found at www.seetorontonow.com

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge here and letting you know I have not disappeared into the city of Las Vegas. I have been keeping busy and had some wonderful weddings in the past month that I look forward to sharing with you all very soon.

In the meantime, just as I'm saying hello again, I am writing to let you know I will be taking a little vacation time to visit family and attend some celebrations in my native Canada (Toronto & Hamilton to be specific), from October 13th-23rd.

I will be back at my desk on the 25th.

Although I won't always have (or want to have) consistent access to being online, I'm sure I will jump on every now and then and say hello from my Facebook Fan Page at least if I find anything Wedding relevant in my travels.

Have a great 10 days and remember to Celebrate Today and Everyday with Love, Life & Style!

Celebrating Life on Jewish Holidays-Closed 9/9-9/12

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge wants to wish all my family, friends and colleagues near and far, my very best wishes for the Jewish New Year on this eve of Rosh Hashana (aka "Head of the Year", aka "Birthday of the World"-5771 years actually).

I will be closed for the holidays starting at 6:00 PM Pacific Time and back on Monday September 12th. I will not be checking regularly for voice and email messages and not returning messages until the 12th.

As a Wedding Planner, one of the most wonderful things I have to look forward to this coming year is the blessing to be involved in helping to create wonderful wedding celebrations of Love and Life for some wonderful brides and grooms. Thank you for the gift of trust you have given me to be a part of your lives and that of your families and friends to help you on this wonderful journey that we will all take together:)

May the coming year bring you and your loved ones happiness, health, good fortune (in whatever way it materializes) and sweetness.

A Prayer for You on Your Wedding Day

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge found another wonderful wedding oriented article on Aish.com (a Jewish online site for learning).

This was written by Azriel Hirsh Friedman and it is called "Wedding Day Dreams".

Again, the theme resonates for me that these prayers are said or can be said, by any bride and groom and wished for them by their loved ones on their wedding day no matter what your background. I truly believe most of these prayers are universal-every one wants these gifts for their future together
.

On your wedding day, do try and make time for some silent reflection to thank your higher power (whatever that may be) for the gifts you are receiving; love, support, affection, extended family and to also contemplate for a life blessed with good fortune, good health, joy, love, children and whatever you and your spouse wish to make of your lives together.

Here are a few select excerpts...

"On one’s wedding day, the gates of prayer are wide open. The Jewish mystical sources tell us that on a wedding day, the bride and groom’s power of prayer is greater than even the holiest person alive. You can ask for anything! Yet most of us get so caught up in the details of the day that we forget to tap into this spiritual wellspring.
"

When I got married, I hadn’t the slightest clue what to pray for. Someone was nice enough to make me a list, so that I wouldn’t miss out on all the blessings for a great marriage and life together.

On your wedding day, I recommend going through this list at a quiet moment, right as you get out of bed in the morning, before everything gets hectic.

And don’t forget: Prayer works best when you open your mouth to speak it out, as opposed to just skimming with your eyes.

Marriage Relationship

May I always speak gently, and think before speaking.

May we always have open, good communication.

May I always act with caring and compassion.

May I have the patience to appreciate our differences.

May we bring out the best in one another"

Thank you for allowing me to pass the list on to my readers!

Wedding Concierge "Cuts the (phone) Cord" Today March 2.

Image Found at NeilsenWire Blog

Just a reminder that today, March 2, 2010 is THE DAY!

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge has done it.I have "cut the (telephone) cord" and going all mobile!

As of March 2, 2010, my business land line, (702) 367-9337 and my Toll Free line (877) 367-WEDS (9337) will no longer be associated with my company. You can reach Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge by phone as of now at (702) 208-1638.

I am updating information across the board over the next few weeks but the changes are already effective for you here on my blog and on my website.

Plus, being the tech-loving wedding planner that I am, I need to give a shout-out for the new V-Tech phone/answering machine with BLUTOOTH I just picked up. It's very cool as it allows me to connect up to 4 wireless devices like cell phones or headset so I can answer through the regular phone. Clearer calls & saving battery life is making this planner REALLY HAPPY. I love it when I love technology and it loves me back:)

Land line freedom day is a Good day to Celebrate Love & Life with Style!

Happy New Year 2010! Now, .....BEGIN!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010! Now….BEGIN

This is a picture Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge took of a very special gift I received at the Engage ’09 Encore Luxury Wedding Symposium in Las Vegas.

All attendees received one of several different hand-stamped custom created eggs with different messages from Caroline Colom Vasquez, owner of Paloma’s Nest who creates Handcrafted Modern Heirlooms™ like the “Original Ring Bearer Bowl™”.

Although the egg I received didn’t really have my own name on it, I believe that this egg really was meant for me (I’m sure every other attendee feels similar thoughts about theirs as well). And although I appreciated the message then, it is today, on the dawn of a new year and decade, as I look at it sitting on my desk, that the message resounds LOUD & CLEAR.

What I see today in this gift of this egg with its simple word, “Begin” is…

POTENTIAL and POSSIBILITIES

All of the great potential I hold, you hold, this new year (and decade) holds to create new ideas, new weddings, new celebrations, new life and new POSSIBILITIES…

To make my life (and yours and this worlds’) happier, healthier, more loving, more fun, more organized, more successful, richer, more inspired and more of whatever you and me and we all wish for it to be.

So, let’s BEGIN, shall we:)? To continue the egg metaphor, let's crack this new year open and "hatch" all of it!!

Here is wishing all the very best to my family, my friends, my colleagues (who are also friends), my extended friends around the “Twitter-verse” and you, my wonderful “Diary” Readers...

A very Happy, Healthy & Wonderful 2010.

Celebrate it and every coming day with LOVE, LIFE & STYLE!

Tracey

Celebrating Changes!

Hello Friends and Diary Readers,

It has been a long time since I have been in touch and blogged after a bit of a tumultuous summer and lots of time for reflection on where I have been, what being the Las Vegas Wedding Concierge has meant to me, my clients and the industry and where I am going and taking things from here.

Perhaps another birthday, another year older and wiser (I hope) has helped to provide some perspective?

However, it was most likely the opportunity to tap the inspiration and knowledge of so many creative, talented friends in the wedding and events industry who, in the middle of this tumultuous summer have made me come to realize that being a part of a couple's journey in planning their wedding is really a gift and one that I don't want to let go of.

Actually, I look at the opportunity for two people to find each other, join their lives together in "Celebration" of uniting in marriage and bringing those they love and who love them together a REAL GIFT. So much in our world these days is sad and hard that the opportunity to come together to celebrate happiness, joy, love and life is a true blessing.

The more I thought about this, the more I decided that I want Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge to reflect these ideals and values that are, I admit, a bit nostalgic and infuse them with a contemporary and, of course, STYLISH vision and sensibility.

Being of Jewish heritage and with the Jewish New Year coming up this weekend, I thought this would be the perfect time to share this news with you. A new and sweet beginning...

So my first step is to happily announce my new branding as Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge, "Creating Stylish Celebrations of Love & Life".

You will see this immediately reflected in a new header for my blog. The blogging will continue of course. I do LOVE to write and hope you will find my thoughts, advice and ideas fun, inspiring, thoughtful and motivate you to inject love and heart and joy in every part of your wedding celebration and in your life too of course.

Over the coming months, you will see more updates with a new website, some updated logo branding and eventually, a new and improved blog as well.

I am excited for these changes but you can be assured of what won't change...

I will always maintain the highest standards and ethics, value my clients and my professional colleagues and "take care" of every wedding and social client personally from consult until the last dance & beyond that I am honored to have the gift of working with.

Thank you for staying true and here is to celebrating positive changes, to love and "To Life"!

Office Closed December 15-21-A Sad Reason to Visit Home

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge is making immediate plans right now to fly home to Canada and my office will be closed for this coming week of December 15th-21st. I expect to be back by December 22nd.

Sadly, I am returning home to attend the funeral of a beloved uncle, my mother's brother, who passed away today from a horrible form of cancer (is there any kind that isn't horrible?) called Mesothelioma. This cancer is a rare form caused by exposure to asbestos and often the symptoms show up 30 to 40 years later.

My uncle and his brother followed my maternal grandfather into the scrap business back in the 40's when they were young men and built a thriving business recycling metals in "Steel Town", Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It was a lucrative industry (and still is) but I guess you could say my family was "green" before "green" was fashionable.

With all the old scrap and junk and piles of grease and muck that surrounded them, apparently asbestos was the last thing they were thinking of or concerned about or even aware of.

Funny thing is, my uncle smoked cigars as long as I knew him and I never could have imagined that in his early 80's it would be a rare form of cancer from asbestos exposure that would fell this man who, to me, was always the embodiment of exuberance and confidence.

My uncle leaves behind 2 siblings, a wife, 4 children, about 14 grandchildren and now even great-grandchildren to come.  He will join my grandparents and 7 of his siblings in heaven now.

I miss him already!

Thank you for letting me share.

Feeling All "Dressed Up in Love"...in Las Vegas!

Hello ladies (and gentlemen)!

Well, I just got back from seeing "Sex & the City" at the movies and I am in LOVE!!

What a fabulous and entertaining movie and the only thing I regret is that I didn't have ALL my girlfriends, the ones I have known for decades and the ones I have only known a few years, with me to enjoy this together.

Of course, ogling at all the drop dead incredible designer wedding gowns in the movie for that VOGUE couture bridal shoot, the decor, the fasion; well..it's like being in a grown-up female and very styish Disney World for 2 hours and 30 funny, sexy and lovely minutes. You are so happy and satisfied when you leave & you can't wait for another opportunity (excuse) to see it (I mean "Mr. Big"...love him) again.

And, don't want to give anything away for anyone who has not seen it yet (can't beleive it took me this long to get there but it IS wedding season!) but let me just say that it re-inforces yet again my belief about what is (should be) at the heart of every wedding day no matter who or where you are in life or in the world.

So with that, enjoy a great song from Academy Award Winner, Jennifer Hudson from the movie that could not be more perfect for a bride or a wedding in June... "All Dressed in Love" !

And ladies...Have a VERY STYLISH DAY!

Find the Wedding Concierge on Facebook

Tracey Kumer-Moore's Facebook profile
Hello there and hope you are enjoying the long weekend? I
It is definitely the best season of the year..."It's WEDDING SEASON" but it is certainly keeping me busy and have had less time to visit and post here online.
Oddly enough, I did not have a wedding to coordinate this long weekend so I am enjoying the time with my husband, catching up on seeing some movies (LOVED the new Indiana Jones Movie!) and now getting to catch up here online on my blog & those of my friends. Speaking of which...
A lot of my friends have been after me to join Face Book.
I finally signed up and I love it! I have to say I am probably more apt to use this social networking site than My Space because this site seems to be similar in certain ways to the business networking site, Linkedin.
I like that it is easy to read everyones' profiles without all those crazy backgrounds and fairly easy to add applications and groups and friends.
I still have a My Space site, but I rarely check it but I will be checking in to my FaceBook site often to keep in touch with my family and friends in Hamilton & Toronto, Canada, here in Las Vegas and all over the USA and beyond.
This is more of my personal networking site (even though there is a bit of wedding related stuff on there too because it is "who I am"-I even found a Wedding Group to join). But, I get to have fun over there and take part in all those silly "what kind of ice cream flavor are you?" style applications and post them online. By the way, it's "Espresso"!
Have a safe & Happy Memorial Day Everyone and G-d Bless the Troops!!

Wedding Concierge is on the Road May 3-11!

Dear Diary Readers...
Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge will be out of the office from May 3 through 11th for a little V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N. in even sunnier and even hotter Palm Springs, CA.

I will be back in Las Vegas on May 12.

I have a busy summer ahead and Mike just finished tax season (even accountants need holidays!) so we figured it would be a good time to take a few days and get out of town.

I will be checking in occassionally for email and I hope to stop in and share some news that should be happening this coming week that I am so excited about; I know I won't be able to wait until I get home to share it with you!

Feel free to leave me a message here if you like. If you are looking for information or to contact me regarding my wedding services, you may visit my website at LVWeddingConcierge.com or email me at info@LVWeddingConcierge.com. My office is closed while I am out of town but I will do my best to get back to you in 48-72 hours.

Thank you, see you next week and have a Stylish weekend.

Hello Again-I know for sure now..I am not Mario Andretti!

Last Sunday my husband, my step-daughter, her boyfriend and I decided to go go-karting at a local indoor track.

Gas powered cars, they get kind of fast. Fun, fun, FUN...I think, right? I'm car #20. "Come on #20, I say"!

Well, the first half of the race car #20 was just purring along, treatin' me right. I get a little close to the barrier and skim it near the pits and then.....NOTHIN'..NADA, BLANK.

I wake up in an ambulance with a neck brace on! HOLY YOU KNOW WHAT!

Apparently, good old car #20 let me down and the axel and wheel came off & I skidded & went through the barrier (I was not being reckles & going super fast-not Mario Andretti fast anyway) & my helmet came off.

So I caused a big commotion (and I don't even remember, darn it!) but I'm ok! I promise. Nothing broken and my head and my brain are just fine after x-rays and a cat-scan.

So, I'm a bit bruised but at least it's a good story right? See Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge knows how to have some fun. Don't worry though, I have insurance & I'm a tough & smart cookie who would never do anything too crazy. And no, I didn't do this just before a wedding either.

Other than the above, the bright point is that it's nice to have makeup stylist friends in the businesss who can make you feel better & then bring you good plaster style cover up makeup to cover up the boo boos. (Thank you Barbara Jo Batterman!!)

So Mr. Andretti your legacy is safe:). You can be remembered for being the super-fast amazing race car driver you are and I'll stick to being remembered for the fabulous weddings I planned. Deal?

I will have my very overdue March "Gift of the Month" post up later today-Stay Tuned!

Have a great & stylish Friday!

Very Vegas Valentine's Day Wishes to You!

HAPPY "DAY AFTER" VALENTINE'S DAY FROM LAS VEGAS!!
Well, due to still feeling a wee bit under the weather, I totally spaced on getting a Valentine wishes post up on the 14th:(
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and shared it with your sweetie and all those people you love and who love you back (like Mom & Dad, your sister or brother, friends, etc.).
My day suddenly got a little brighter when a certain wonderful husband flashed something sparkly and glinty in my eye when he got home tonight and slipped it on my right ring finger:) What a guy!!
And of course, "My Love Don't Cost a Thing" as JLo would say (wonder if she got her Valentine's day present yesterday?), but it sure was sweet!
My wish and hope for all of you is for you and your sweetie to feel like every day is Valentines' Day.
All the best!

Happy New Year & Welcome 2008!!

WELCOME 2008!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF THE LAS VEGAS WEDDING CONCIERGE'S FRIENDS!!
Isn't this an incredible image? There is absolutely nothing like spending New Years Eve in Las Vegas!! I found this awesome image on a blog about Las Vegas called VegasTripping.com.
So goodbye 2007! It has been another incredible year for me and I had the pleasure of planning and producing some beautiful weddings for some very special couples, reached many new exciting goals both professionally and personally and met so many interesting and exciting people and saw so many amazing things that again re-inforced that I am truly blessed to be a part of this amazing world of wedding planning.
Being able to share all these experiences with you in my diary (or that's "Blog" to you Mr. Ebon!) is the way I have been able to keep a piece of the year that was 2007 as a timecapsule to reflect back on and get energy from and inspired to take 2008 and make it even better!!
I hope you have enjoyed your visits here and I look forward to taking 2008 by storm IN STYLE with you!!

Wishing You a Merry Christmas from Las Vegas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM FABULOUS LAS VEGAS!!

Christmas trees and penguins and flying reindeer, OH MY!!

The holiday season in Las Vegas is really quite fun and no hotel quite does Christmas like the Bellagio!!

The Bellagio Conservatory is one of my favorite places to visit any season, but the Christmas display is just so much fun and is the epitome of how Las Vegas does the holidays in true Las Vegas Style!!

Although we won't have a "White Christmas", it sure does feel festive here and we are all awaiting the arrival of "The Big Guy"! Do you think Santa brings Elvis along for the ride when he hits Vegas?

If you are considering celebrating a Destination Las Vegas Wedding close to or over the holidays, it is a great time to be here and you can take advantage of great scenery and decor, fabulous weather and Vegas Holiday spirit and hospitality!

I am one of those people that celebrate "Christ-Ma-Kah" or "Chan-a-Mas" as I am Jewish and my husband is Christian and we celebrate each other's holidays and it's wonderful to be able to have him and my step-daughters embrace my traditions and likewise, me embrace theirs out of love and respect.

No matter how or what you celebrate at this time of year, celebrate it with your whole heart and I hope that your holidays are filled with good health, fun, love and good cheer!!

Fondly,
Tracey Kumer-Moore, JWIC

The Wedding Concierge's Parents Visit Las Vegas

My parents are visiting me from Toronto this week so while you are reading this, I have kind of cleared most of my schedule and am off playing Las Vegas Concierge/travel companion to spend as much time as possible with them (I only get to see them about every 4-6 months).

While I was getting ready for their arrival, I was thinking about them and how they raised me with all the good values and the right warnings about life of course, but also how the characteristics they each passed onto me has influenced my profession as a Wedding Consultant...what did I get from them that makes me love what I do so well to be Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge?

My Mother: My mother has an amazing sense of Style!! She has beautifully decorated two homes (the home I grew up in was featured in a local interior design article) that managed to feel like homes and not like museums. She has been the defacto wedding planner/designer for many of her friends children's Bar Mitzvah Parties and Weddings, their unofficial interior designer, etc.
She was a major part of co-producing an annual local two-day festival for women in the 80's that included fashion shows, a trade-show, celebrity chefs and lectueres (and even a visit from Brian Mulroney who was campagning for re-election as Prime Minister of Canada).

She is an uber-multi-tasker and manages to have a bunch of "balls in the air" and never gets phased if one drops temporarily. She has a truly loving heart and tells it like it is and always taught me to be gracious and send "lovely notes" to everyone that did something nice for me (gifts, stay-overs, etc.). These are just some of the things my mother gave to me.

My Father-One of the hardest working people I know who's career is so integral to his life. Yes, he kvetches (complains) but I know that he identifies so strongly with it, it's a part of him, like Wedding Planning is so much a part of me!

I must say, I am my father's daughter (my husband even jokingly calls me by my dad's name when I get in that zone), in the sense that we both have OCD when it comes to being punctual, being neat, organized, careful, staying on top of tasks to be done and thinking things to their logical conclusion and the consequences of not following through... I can hear him now asking me "did you take care of it..?" THAT most important aspect of what I do as a Wedding Consultant-timelines, layouts, figuring out the best way to put it all the puzzle pieces together (actually, it's my brother who is the puzzle wizard in our family). Following through and keeping my word as best as I possibly can and earning one's trust and being loyal..these are just some of the things my father gave to me.

When I became a Wedding Consultant 6 years ago, all the characteristics and all the life lessons and values I was instilled with from my parents finally found their place inside me to make me what I am today...Tracey Kumer-Moore, JWIC..Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge Wedding Consultant. I guess I call on my parents every day in some way every time I work with a couple to ensure their planning experience with me is a positive one and their wedding is a beautiful and memorable day...for all the right reasons!

I hope you are having a Stylish week and I will check in soon!

"Blog Taggers" & the People Who Love Them!

Sounds like the next episode of The Dr. Phil Show, doesn't it? Although I don't think this condition is curable, and shouldn't be because truthfully, it is a really cool way of communicating with our friends near and far and Dr. Phil would propably think it was a good exercise in self expression...

So the next "Tagger" on the show is my friend Mark Kingsdorf, the Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultant in Philly who has tagged me yet again to do a blog list. Happy Christmas to you too, LOL!! I'm 0-2 now but I'll get you back one of these days, hehe!

It's nice to know that people are out there reading and interested in what I have to say on my blog and that I have friends out there who care enough to send me all these fun things to post:)!

So here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So 7 weird/random things about me, eh? (Yeah, I'm Canadian if you didn't already know and I never say "eh"...but this doesn't count).
1) I am the youngest grandchild of 19 on my mother's side (she is the younges of 9) and with all the grandchildred and great granchildren, I have almost 100 cousins!

2) I can't wink an eye (when I try I look like I have a bad twitch) & I am a terrible whistler (which I obviously didn't inherit from my dad because he is the king of whistlers).

3) I moved to Israel for a year after high school and lived on a kibbutz, was in the army (for a week) and learned how to shoot an M-16 rifle (I'm a pretty good shot actually) and volunteered in the childrens ward at Mt. Sinai Hospital. It was one of the most amazing years of my life (so far).

4) After highschool I wanted to be a journalist (I first became a dental asisstant, then a dental office manager and then a Wedding Consultant) but I have come full circle because I get to write here now and I also write a newsletter for my Las Vegas NACE chapter.

5) My favorite book of all time-Marjorie Morningstar by Herman Wouk (the movie starred Natalie Wood & Gene Kelley which I also love) about a young Jewish girl from an upwardly mobile family in the 30's who longs to break free and find herself and her place in the world & learns some very interesting things about herself. Her story resonated very strongly when I read it back in my late teens and inspired me in many ways and even now, all these years later, it's still a good read (even though I hated the ending and still do).

6) I love SpongeBob Squarepants (so does my husband)!! We own at least 4 seasons on DVD. I have to watch at least one episode (ususally it's always 2) and its generally after I finish watching the news because Spongebob always makes me smile and laugh and can't we all use some of that? I think if the terrorists could just watch some Spongebob, everything would be OK!

7) Pasta, Pasta-I crave it; spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli, fettucini alfredo (yeah, I know how bad it is for me but I can't help it). It's my ultimate comfort food.
All right, now it's your turn...
1. My friend Jeannie Ward, "The Wedding Jeannie"
2. Jody Taylor Smith of "Good Taste Events" (who has a great sense of humor & I can't wait to hear your answers!)
3. My friend & part-time mentor Andy Ebon of the Wedding Marketing Blog
4. My friend Jodi Harris, the CEO of Fun at Sight N' Sound Events in Vegas.
5. Jennifer Johnson, the "OC's Finest Wedding Planner"
6. Amber Gustafson of "Amber Events"
7. Risa Provenzio of Romanza Events

Well, sort of...We are closing for the week due to my celebration of the the Jewish New Year and I will be heading home to visit my family in Toronto, Canada (I actually had this trip booked before the other news, really!).

In addition to being home with my family for the holidays, I was informed that I would be invited to a cousin's wedding while I was in town!!!

Go figure! A Wedding planner attending a wedding on her time off!! I just get a chuckle when I think about it because I guess it would seem I live and breathe weddings all the time, LOL!

Truthfully, I am so excited because living so far away from most of my family in Canada, I miss out on a lot of weddings and celebrations that were so much a part of my fond memories of growing up in my family. It will be such a pleasure to be a guest at this wedding and be there for my cousin. I am sure people will be looking at me and wondering if I'm judging the flowers or picking apart the ceremony in some way, but I won't be, I PROMISE:)!

I will see you all when I return on the 19th and have a Stylish week!!
