Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge LOVES Las Vegas because when we do ANYTHING, we do it BIG and we do with STYLE!!

The performers of some of the city's most loved shows, from "Phantom" to "Jersey Boys" & "Tony & Tina's Wedding" certainly were all decked out to celebrate in their Easter finest for a very worthy cause.

These are just two of the incredible parade of Easter bonnet creations and of course I just had to share the two most wedding related ones with my readers.

The second annual "Las Vegas Easter Bonnet Competition", a benefit for St. Therese Center, was held April 5 at Chippendales Theatre at The Rio Hotel & Casino.

St. Therese Center, provides outreach and services to more than 3,500 locals with HIV and AIDS.

According to the Review Journal article, the 2009 year's fundraiser has brought in more than $12,000 in donations.

Las Vegas Wedding Concierge Featured Again as Las Vegas Wedding Expert in Luxury "Your Wedding Day Magazine"

Your Wedding Day Magazine, Spring 2009 Issue

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge is so delighted  to tell you that I am quoted as the featured Las Vegas Wedding Expert in a fabulous "Destinations" article in one of my absolute favorite luxury wedding magazines, "Your Wedding Day"!

The Spring 2009 issue has truly outdone itself and proves that you can improve on perfection. Kudos!

Our fabulous city was given the right and proper credit due as a "luxury wedding destination" in their "Destination" segment right along with Oahu, Hawaii, Riviera Maya for starters

"Take in a fabulous show", as I am credited as saying, at Beatle's LOVE at The Mirage, have a swank, sexy and cosmopolitan wedding at the chic Red Rock Resort on the west side of town and shop in Style at Wynn Las Vegas are among some of the hot picks the article says to experience.

This stunning publication, based in Santa Barbara, California, is a true style setter showcasing the most fashion forward and cutting edge designs in gowns, decor and more by the country's most sought after wedding professionals and venues. The photography and creative design just makes you want to linger a little longer on each and every page.

I am honored to count myself among their carefully selected roster of "YWD Preferred Resources" of wedding and event professionals in California, in Las Vegas and across the country.

Thanks to Harmony Walton (also owner of the Bridal Bar)   for including me in this great article and showing off the sexy, savvy, "shiny" (like that one) and stylish Las Vegas that I love to brides looking for an amazing and memorable wedding weekend.

Speaking of weekends, hope yours is a Stylish one too!

Design My Wedding: Wedding Innovators Challenge

The west coast right now may have higher temperatures than the east coast, but that isn't stopping my wedding planning friend Vicky Johnson of the fabulous DC Nearly Weds Blog.

They are hosting the Wedding Innovator's Design Challenge and Bridal Show. It will start in Washington, DC and travel to 5 additional cities ( New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and Toronto).
This will be a 3 prong event : A Design Challenge for Event Planners, Bridal Show for Brides and a Silent Auction to benefit Brides Against Breast Cancer.

The DC Show is being sponsored by My Wedding Day Magazine and my good friends from The Wedding Podcast Network and is being held at the Liaison Capitol Hill in Washington from 10:00 - 5:00 pm on Saturday February 21, 2009.

Leading our panel of judges is Los Angeles celebrity wedding and event planner
Diann Valentine. She is also the host of the new Mark Burnett/Dreamworks TV Show Wedding Day debuting this spring.

There will be a ticketed VIP networking event following the show as well, so there's a great deal to see and do in DC!

They will also be welcoming donations for the Silent Auction. Proceeds will benefit
Brides Against Breast Cancer. Show information and registration can be found on the show website at www.WeddingInovators.com

If you can plan your schedule to attend in one of these cities, click
here for a special coupon Vicky has provided all Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge's diary readers to get a $5.00 discount off your show ticket. Additionally there are special discounts available for planners and exhibitors.

I'm looking forward to hearing news of these events and if you are attending, please come back here and share your with us by joining my Google Friends Networks! Wedding Thriller Dance! Happy Halloween!

I think this is one of the classic videos that started the whole "Rock the Wedding Reception" custom dance craze. Everyone looked like they had a good time and the moves were fabulous. They were ON!

Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is one of the all-time greatest videos EVER in my opinion.

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge thinks it is a lot of fun and very memorable to do a custom dance with your wedding party, if they are all on board with it of course and are available to be there to learn the moves. If you are going to go through the trouble of doing one of these dances with your wedding party, it should look good (because it should be on video), right?

Make it fun and make it memorable.

Have a fun and Stylin' Halloween!

Say "I Do" to "Wedding Week" on The Food Network!

Weddings, even in this modern day are still family events and, no matter what part of the world you live in, a wedding is still cause for family and friends to celebrate and that means food! The wedding "banquet", be it Chinese, Jewish, Italian, Thai or Indian, is one of the main focuses of the event in entertaining your guests. Food & beverage will also be about half of most couples' wedding budgets.

With all the food trends that are impacting weddings these days, from "global" and "exotic" to "sustainable" and "organic" cuisines for example and the focus on the ever present statement piece; the Cake, it is no wonder that Wedding Week on The Food Network is always such a big hit with brides and grooms who are in the midst of their wedding planning.

Of course, I'm sure you will also find Hotel & Resort Catering Managers, Catering Companies, Restaranteurs, Pastry Chefs and Wedding Planners (yes, Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge included), tuning in too. We love this as much as you do!

So make sure to set your DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to FoodNetwork.com over the coming week as they feature a wide variety of Wedding inspired themes to both their regular programming (Duff Goldman, from Charm City Cakes has quite a lot of coverage this week & next on his show "Ace of Cakes" for example & there is an episode of "Unwrapped" dedicated to all things wedding.

All of this leads up to what the network calls "Wedding Day Saturday" with practically a full day of wedding programming. Click here to see the schedule.

Speaking of "specials", I must confess that I love all the Wedding Cake themed "Food Network Challenge" shows. They are always so exciting, interesting and almost agonizing to watch as they create exquisite sugar masterpieces that boggle even the most creative minds.

Enjoy the shows and...

Have a Delicious & Stylish Day!

The Wedding Concierge & The "Design Star"!!

Yep, that's me and Scott Corridan himself, one of the featured designers on this years' version of HGTV's "Design Star" and owner of Corridan and Company in Santa Barbara CA. Scott was also part of the incredibly talented team featured on Extreme Makeover "Wedding Edition".

First of all, Scott really does have the most magnetic blue eyes and the greatest smile and, if you have watched the show, you know he just has the best laugh. He is a very genuine person indeed and he definately has a great design style and way he deals with his brides and clients that make you want to stay and hang out with him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Scott and being part of two presentations that he made at the
NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) Educational Conference; last year in Phoenix, AZ and this year's conference in Houston, TX.

This year Scott was the feature for the Design & Decor session and his challenge was to create, in 24 hours no less, an entire ambience to showcase new ideas for "Seating Beyond the Bar" that was chosen by the conference attendees.

Oh, and did he "get it"!! Scott showcased spaces and ideas that were innovate yet so comfortable; like you were invited to his living room. And that really is what events should be about-having fun and making your space feel like an extension of yourselves and welcoming your guests to a place in time and space that is yours, even just for the night.

The showcase featured floral arrangements that you would see in homes, furniture and lamps from antique stores, and some really out there ideas (but personal to Scott who rides), Harley's used as seating...that's Hot!

I took away a great deal of inspiration on how to help you find that special look that will welcome your guests into "your place" and celebration of love and your style!

Check out some of the images from Scott's Decor & Design Session at NACE and you can surely see why he is a contender on the Design Star Show. Scott, we y'all loved you in Houston, TX and I am rooting for you!!

Have a Stylish Day!!

Spam-A-Lot and Laugh-A-Lot in Camelot!

If you are coming to Vegas and have not seen Spam-A-Lot, Monty Pythons' musical based on their hilarious movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", get yourself some tickets and go see this absolutely wonderful show.

It will give you the gigglies! The Las Vegas show is at the Grail Theatre at Wynn, Las Vegas and stars John O'Hurly (remember Mr. Peterman on Seinfeld & Dancing with the Stars) as King Arthur looking for the "holy grail".
King Arthur is helped out by his faithful and hilarious Knights of the Round table, Lancelot (who has a secret), Robin (destined to be on Broadway) and the lovely Lady of the Lake who has a bit of an attitude.
The quest for the grail features some of the best stuff of Monty Python like "None Shall Pass", "Bring out Your Dead", angry French people and Killer Rabbits. And, it's been "Vegasiszed" so expect some fun local humor and a typical Vegas happy ending. If you have never seen Monty Python before you will enjoy the humor and Monty Python fans will be in heaven laughing all over again!
It's fun and lighthearted and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face leaving the theatre as I whistled "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"!
Have a Stylish Day-And "always look on the bright side of life!"
